I spend most of time working on backend systems in my current position. One system I co-architected and currently expand and maintain is an in-house PHP5-based framework and an in-place content management system. Currently called “Freedom“, it heavily-utilises Javascript and a web-service to allow clients to edit their own website in their own template without leaving their site to go to an administration page. It currently works in all the major browsers, Internet Explorer 6+, Firefox 1+, Safari 2+ and Opera 9+. As it heavily relies on a client-side scripting, platform-agnostic URLs and a custom web service API, we are aiming to port the backend to a more solid foundation such as .NET using C#.

One outside opportunity I got was to write a “Web 2.0″ application for managing basic bookmarks on the internet. It is a project currently called “AnyCircle” and can be accessed by either a domain name like http://www.type-any-circle-of-six.com or by typing a circle of six letters on your keyboard and adding “.com”. An example would be “resxcf.com”.
I had creative input into the design, I created the site templates, the backend system, the XML API and the entire user-interface programming using the Prototype Library as a base. I also currently administer the server it runs on.

Below are a small selection of other sites I have been involved in creating while in my role at Evos:
